FC Barcelona will be without Cesc Fàbregas for their UEFA Champions League Group H match at home to FC Viktoria Plzeň after the midfielder was ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Fàbregas has been sidelined after sustaining the muscle injury in his right leg during the Azulgrana's final training session ahead of their Liga encounter at Real Sporting de Gijón. The former Arsenal FC midfielder joins Alexis Sánchez (hamstring) and Ibrahim Affelay (knee) in the treatment room having featured as a substitute during Barcelona's 5-0 victory against FC BATE Borisov on matchday two. Josep Guardiola's side are level with AC Milan on four points at the top of their section.
The 24-year-old will also miss Spain's final UEFA EURO 2012 Group I qualifying matches against the Czech Republic on 7 October and Scotland four days later.
